To me those words were almost as good as "guess what lingerie i have on, dear? "
Let me tell you what I came home to tonight.
10 prawns Butterflied and spread out across a bowlful of pasta, laced with bright yellow buttered garlic... yeah... that gives a new meaning to the word SEXY!
I thought once you fried a prawn, it opens out magically for you. I didn't know that there was this "Butterfly" process. Then again I used to think that Mac & Cheese meant a Double Cheese Big Mac!
Over the weekend my love discovered a new love. After an hour and a half of watching Julia & Julie, we realised that the one passion we shared above all the la-di-da arts and farts, is this huge penchant for life and food. No. Not as separate entities. But how it relates to each other.
Just a simple dinner like tonight's made me realised the little things in life that I often take for granted. I have always thought that the Prawns served in nice big restaurants looked big and fluffy, because they came that way. I didnt know until tonight that it was just a simple slit to their bottoms that made them open up so invitingly to diner.
Although I still dont get why it is called Butterflied. How can such a sweet and beautiful noun be such a brutal verb to another creature?
